Sadie is 9 months old - Crawling and Standing!

On Sadie's 9 month birthday (1.23.12), she started crawling! Not in the usual, elevated way that babies crawl, but in more of an army crawl fashion. Since her upper right leg is shorter, she drags that leg and pulls herself around with her strong little arms. We are so proud of her!!! She doesn't let this slight discrepancy bother her, as she is right on target with everything physically. Our physical therapist (provided to us by Lake County's Help me Grow program) told us she is actually a little ahead of where any baby should be (not in crawling itself, just overall). I'm so happy for her! I can already tell that she has a very determined spirit about her.
HOORAY FOR SADIE!!!!

I will post a video soon of her crawling!

In 2 weeks we have an appointment with our Cleveland Clinic doctor so that he can measure Sadie's leg and write up the prescription for her shoe lift. I am sure that once we put it on her that she will look absolutely adorable and fabulous as usual. :)

Pics of her standing (holding on) of course:

Sadie and Mommy get Baptized

On January 8, 2012 Sadie and I were baptized together! It was a lovely service and we chose Hope Ridge Methodist Church due to our family history there (my grandparents used to teach Sunday School there, and my parents and aunts and uncles were all married there).

Sadie is lucky to have loving and supportive godparents:
Kelly - also her aunt - Jimmy's sister
Josh - one of my long time best friends from OU

Songs for Sadie

Every night before we go to bed, Sadie likes to hear me sing this song. I think it is beautiful as well, and it stops any fussiness almost immediately. (works in restaurants or public places too, haha)

Sadie is such a great eater! She will eat any baby food I feed her. She loves when I sing this song to her during mealtime. How funny that this same band also did the Scooby Doo theme song!

Sadie's First Christmas

What a wonderful holiday season we had! It was very overwhelming at the same time - similar to taking a trip to Vegas almost. :) For a baby who does not realize completely what is going on yet, she got so many wonderful gifts from her family and friends. Here are some pictures of all of her beautiful Christmas outfits she wore for the 2 weeks leading up until Christmas and all of our family gatherings.

Sadie, Jimmy and Val in Florida

Here is a very cute video and some of my favorite pictures from our recent trip to Florida. Enjoy!

Sadie's first time on a plane! We were lucky to be on a small one with the 2 seats together next to the row and only 1 seat on the other side. She did really well and didn't cry the whole time! (Flying back home was another story though...)

We checked into our hotel in West Palm Beach after eating at Jimmy's favorite restaurant of all time, Moe's, and all took a 3 hour nap. Sadie would not sleep in the pack and play the hotel set up for us so she slept in one of the queen beds with Mommy. :)

Now we are all ready to go out to dinner and hit the town!

checking out what is on the menu.....
Our first full day here before our doctor's appointment with Dr. Paley, we drove across the bridge and walked around Palm Beach. The weather was sunny and 80 degrees!

The night before our appointment we had dinner at a FABULOUS restaurant that we loved...the Riverhouse Restaurant!

On 11/11/11, we went into Dr. Paley's office for our appointment with him. Here is an x-ray of Sadie's legs.

This is a world map with red thumbtacks indicating where patients have come from to see Dr. Paley.
This is a US map indicating the same thing.

Our appointment went very well and Sadie slept almost the whole 2.5 hour drive to Naples. We love going to Florida because we get to see Kelly, Danny and Kyler!

We tried to do a photoshoot with Kyler and Sadie.

Look at these cuties! Do I hear wedding bells in the future???

We very much enjoyed our trip to Florida and will be going back for another appointment with Dr. Paley sometime in mid-2013.
